Welcome

Originally started in 1985 the centre has operated from Sylvan House since 1997. Based right in the heart of Kerikeri’s educational precinct, both Centres are very close to Kerikeri Primary, and Kerikeri High School.

The Centres are privately owned and follow the national curriculum known as Te Whariki. This forms the broad basis from which daily, weekly and individual learning and development programmes are developed.

We understand the challenges of juggling work, home, study and children. We can offer full time or part time care to accommodate different childcare and educational needs from birth to six years of age in our quality early childcare centres. Our staff are always there to support you and your children.

As a client you can log into our parent page where you can see photos, children’s work, up and coming events and join in on our forum. You can also access our Skype so you can ring and say hello to your child and see what is happening during the day!

Sylvan House Nursery (birth to 18 months)

The separate nursery facility within Sylvan House caters for infants from birth to approximately 18 months of age. Children are then transitioned into the toddler area.

Sylvan House Toddler Area (18 months to 3 years)

Children aged between 18 months and three years are cared for in the main area of Sylvan House.

Lanark House (3 years to 5 years)

Children transition to Lanark House, located 50 metres down Lanark Road, when they reach around three years old. Parent wishes and general sociability and maturity levels are also considered before children are transitioned.

Hours

Both Centre’s are open from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Children may be bought to or collected from the Centre’s at any time during those hours.

Sessions

Parents can choose to have their children cared for during an all day session (10 hours), or alternatively for up to five hours during either a morning (7.30am – 12.30pm) or an afternoon (12.30pm – 5.30pm) session. If you require different hours please talk to the Supervisor or Manager about your needs.

So what makes us different from the rest?

  • Staff are either qualified in Early Childhood Education or working towards these qualifications.
  • Fantastic location right in town, and in the middle of Kerikeri’s education precinct.
  • High staff child ratio, well above the Ministry of Education’s requirements to ensure your children get the best pre-school education and care!
  • An interactive website for you to see your children at play, download activities, see your children’s favourite recipes and much more
  • Large and well resourced facilities with great indoor and outdoor space.
  • Fantastic transition programmes between the centres and on to primary school.
  • Caring family orientated centres that understand your needs.
  • Nutritious cooked meals so you don’t have to worry about packing lunches!
